Girls of Pop Zine is back and we want you to be part of the team.
We are hiring a freelance social media manager for issue 4.
FAQs
Will I be paid?
- Yes, thanks to our grant from the Youth Music NextGen Fund, you will be paid a flat fee for all freelance work. That being said we are looking for people who want to gain experience and will therefore be dedicated to participating in and promoting the zine beyond the paid work.

Where will the work take place?
- The role is mainly remote but will require working at events and with people in London. You must be able to attend some in-person meetings in or around NW London.

What skills and interests must I have?
- Must have a strong interest and knowledge in pop music.
- Requires confidence in creating photo and video content for our social media pages. You also must be open to promoting the magazine on your personal pages.
- We aren’t necessarily looking for those with experience but those with passion, talent, creativity and self-motivation.
- Work will be flexible and project-based but we still ask of you that you have at least 2 hours a week to dedicate to the magazine.

Social Media Manager
Key Skills
- Previous experience and confidence in running social media accounts.
- Knowledge of running ads, scheduling posts and collating/planning content.
- Knowledge of current trends and has lots of ideas.
- Must be based in NW London for this role so that you can work with me (Ruby - Girls of Pop Zine founder) on content.
Job tasks
- This is a part-time freelance role for someone who wants to gain more experience.
- Plan social media content.
- Schedule posts on TikTok and Instagram.
- Make content and support the rest of the team in creating content.
