MyPocketSkill is looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team and help build our fintech/edtech platform for 13–25-year-olds.
This is a hands-on role for someone early in their software career who wants to learn quickly, ship fast and make real progress using modern AI coding tools such as Claude, Cursor, Augment, GitHub Copilot or similar.

MyPocketSkill helps young people:

- Build financial confidence through AI-powered tools and education
We are now developing new AI features, partner integrations and improved product journeys.
The role
You will work closely with our founders and product team to build features, fix bugs and improve the platform.
You Will
- Build backend, frontend and internal product features
- Use AI coding tools to write, test, debug and refactor code faster
- Support development of AI-powered matching, recommendations and learning tools
- Work with Python/Django, JavaScript, Vue/React, PostgreSQL and GCP
- Review AI-generated code carefully before it is shipped
- Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate tests
- Document your work clearly
- Learn the codebase quickly and take on more ownership over time

About You
We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals, high learning velocity and genuine curiosity about AI-assisted software development.
Must-have
- Some commercial, internship, freelance or strong project experience
- Working knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript
- Familiarity with web development and databases
- Experience using, or strong interest in using, AI coding tools
- Good problem-solving skills
- Clear communication and willingness to ask questions
- Attention to detail when testing and shipping code
- Interest in fintech, edtech, marketplaces or AI products
Nice-to-have
- Django, Vue, React or PostgreSQL experience
- Familiarity with GCP, CI/CD or cloud deployment
- Experience with LLM APIs, RAG or AI agents
- GitHub, portfolio or shipped projects you can discuss
- Product or UX interest

Practical details
- Location: Hybrid. Minimum 2 days/week in Clerkenwell, London
- Hours: Full-time, typically 40 hours/week
- Right to work: You must have the right to work in the UK and you must not be on any form of visa scheme.
