You will work closely with Marine Survey, Engineering and Project teams to ensure spatial data is structured, validated, analysed and presented to a high technical and regulatory standard.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone in the early stages of their GIS career (typically 1-3 years post-university or equivalent experience), looking to develop within a major offshore transmission environment.
You Will
- Support GIS and geospatial activities associated with subsea cable installation and marine survey projects.
- Process, manage and analyse offshore spatial datasets including:
- Survey point data
- Bathymetry and MBES surfaces
- Route alignments and KP referencing
- Geotechnical and environmental constraints data
- Produce high-quality maps, figures and spatial outputs for use in:
- Project documentation
- Installation planning
- Regulatory submissions

- Maintain structured geodatabases and ensure data integrity, version control and metadata compliance.
- Support the integration of marine survey deliverables into GIS environments for engineering and project use.
- Utilise the wider ArcGIS ecosystem including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal and associated applications to support data sharing, visualisation and collaboration.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
