Junior HR Administrator (3-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Location: Milton Keynes (Hybrid – minimum 3 days in the office) Salary: £25,300 per annum (pro rata)

We’re seeking a motivated Junior HR Administrator to join our HR team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is an ideal opportunity to gain practical experience throughout the employee lifecycle and build essential HR skills.


About the Role

As a Junior HR Administrator, you’ll collaborate closely with our HR Transactional Team, providing crucial support for daily HR operations and recruitment processes. Your role will ensure seamless and efficient HR services for employees and managers while offering exposure to HR systems, workflows, and industry best practices.

This is a fast-paced, varied role where no two days will be identical!


Key Responsibilities

HR Administration & Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR enquiries via email, Microsoft Teams, and in-person interactions
  • Prepare new starter documentation, contracts, and onboarding materials
  • Maintain accurate employee records within HR systems (such as SelectHR)
  • Oversee the central HR inbox, responding to queries professionally and promptly
  • Support employee lifecycle processes, including starters, internal movements, and leavers
  • Assist with HR reports, presentations, and meeting administration
  • Conduct pre-employment checks, including background verifications and right-to-work assessments

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist with job postings across internal and external platforms
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate with hiring managers

  • Work collaboratively with the HR team to deliver exceptional employee experiences
  • Support process improvements and propose innovative ideas

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong administrative skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in IT tools: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while prioritising effectively
  • A proactive, forward-thinking attitude with a "can-do" mindset
  • A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

Desirable

  • Previous administrative or HR experience (any level)
  • Basic familiarity with HR processes or employment law
  • Experience using HR systems (e.g., SelectHR or similar platforms)
