Junior HR Business Partner
Department: Human Resources Employment Type: Full Time Location: Southend Compensation: £36,000 – £40,000/year
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Junior HR Business Partner to join InsurEvo Group, offering key support to our people strategy. This dynamic role involves partnering with line managers to provide expert guidance on HR matters, driving performance, engagement, and talent development.
You will work closely with the Head of HR to deliver high-quality HR support, contribute to strategic initiatives, and foster best practice across the employee lifecycle. Success hinges on smooth handling of employee relations, compliance with employment legislation, and leveraging data-driven insights for decision-making and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the primary point of contact for HR-related queries, offering professional support to employees, managers, and HR Administrators
- Advise line managers on implementing HR policies, procedures, and processes with consistency
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide analytical support, inform decision-making, and champion HR best practice
- Guide managers through employee relations (including absence, disciplinary, grievance, welfare, and performance cases)
- Ensure HR policies and procedures remain compliant with UK legislation and aligned with best practice
- Deliver training & coaching to managers and leaders on HR processes and effective people management
- Identify learning & development needs, contributing to business-wide employee development initiatives
- Prepare and review HR documentation (contracts, letters, correspondence) for accuracy and compliance
- Support onboarding activities and contribute to tracking of HR metrics and people insights
- Foster a collaborative, positive culture aligned with company values and strategic objectives
- Enhance employee engagement via surveys, focus groups, and feedback activities
- Assist with recruitment & attraction (e.g., pre-screening, interview coordination, salary benchmarking, employer branding)
- Support reward & compensation, including pay reviews, bonus administration, and market benchmarking
- Maintain data accuracy and confidentiality in payroll processes
- Oversee daily office facilities & supplier management, including workplace maintenance
- Support Health & Safety compliance and maintain accurate compliance records

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proven experience in an HR Advisor or Business Partner role
- Hands-on experience handling employee relations (e.g., absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance cases)
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Experience using HR systems and HR analytics to inform business decisions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and confidently support managers
- Exceptional organizational skills for managing varied workloads
- CIPD Level 3 or Level 5 qualification (or currently enrolled)
