About the Role
We’re seeking a Junior IBAR Mechanical Designer based at our IBAR facility in Kendal, England. Reporting to the IBAR Design Manager, this role will place you in an innovative engineering team known for strong communication, ambition, and problem-solving.
As part of the IBAR Design team, you’ll gain a full overview of the product lifecycle—from concept to design, regardless of project scope or industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop project designs from initial concept through to detailed execution, including:
- Generating Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Creating production drawings aligned with company and international standards
- Produce manufacturing documentation (work instructions, etc.) to enhance production processes
- Assist senior engineers in completing assembly drawings while adhering to project specifications
- Manage design records using Autodesk Vault and ensuring accuracy and accessibility
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers (mechanical engineering, production, and site teams)
- Identify, mitigate, and resolve risks, while proactively improving quality and efficiency
- Contribute to team development and Engineering Excellence initiatives, driving continuous improvement for both engineering and production teams

Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong foundational knowledge in engineering or a related technical discipline
- Desirable: Prior exposure or experience in electrical equipment design
- Advantageous: Familiarity with Autodesk engineering tools (e.g., Inventor, Vault, Revit)
- Preferred but not mandatory: Mechanical design experience
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel to other Anord Mardix locations when required
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
