Junior Integration Engineer

Junior RAN Test Engineer

Location: Reading, United Kingdom

Role Overview

As a Junior RAN Test Engineer, you’ll join Ericsson’s RAN Test team and contribute to ensuring our 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions perform as expected before deployment to customer networks.

This is an early-career opportunity tailored for recent graduates. The role combines structured learning, hands-on mentoring, and real-world project exposure, allowing you to build expertise in mobile networks, testing methods, and automation/AI at a gradual, supported pace. Over time, you can progress into roles such as Integration Engineer, Network Engineer, or Test Specialist.

What You Will Do

Your early months will focus on onboarding, learning, and gradually taking on responsibilities as your confidence grows. Key responsibilities include:

Entry-Level Learning & Support

  • Follow a structured onboarding plan covering:
    • 4G/5G RAN concepts

    • Ericsson tools and company best practices via internal learning platforms and local workshops

  • Shadow experienced colleagues during test planning, execution, and troubleshooting, then independently handle small, defined tasks with mentorship support

Practical Contributions

  • Assist in preparing and running test cases for new software releases, features, or configuration updates, under senior guidance
  • Collect and organise logs, traces, and KPIs from test runs to help teams analyse results and identify issues
  • Utilise existing automation frameworks and scripts to execute tests, and progressively contribute optimisations (e.g., log parsing, report generation)
  • Execute basic environment management tasks (e.g., applying software updates, configuring test hardware) once trained

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
