Junior RAN Test Engineer

Role Overview

As a Junior RAN Test Engineer, you’ll join Ericsson’s RAN Test team and play a vital role in ensuring our 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions function flawlessly before deployment in live customer networks. This is an early-career opportunity tailored for recent graduates, offering structured support, mentoring, and a clear career progression path.

The role is ideal if you enjoy understanding technical systems, solving practical problems, and exploring mobile networks, testing, automation, and AI. With guidance from experienced colleagues, you’ll grow into senior roles such as Integration Engineer, Network Engineer, or Test Specialist.

What You Will Do

In your early months, the focus will be on learning and gaining confidence in tools and workflows. As you progress, you’ll take on more responsibility in a structured manner:

  • Follow a structured onboarding plan, covering:

    • 4G/5G RAN concepts
    • Ericsson tools and methodologies
    • Internal learning platforms and local workshops
  • Shadow experienced colleagues during:

    • Test planning
    • Test execution
    • Troubleshooting
  • Gradually own small, defined tasks with ongoing support, including:

    • Preparing and running test cases for new software, features, and configurations in the RAN test environment.
    • Collecting and organising logs, trace data, and basic KPIs to support team analysis and issue investigations.
    • Automating tests using existing frameworks and scripts, with opportunities to:
      • Improve log parsing
      • Generate simple reports

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
