Junior Integration Engineer
Junior RAN Test Engineer – Role Overview
As a Junior RAN Test Engineer, you’ll join Ericsson’s RAN Test team and help ensure our 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions deliver flawless performance before they deploy to live networks. This is an entry-level role designed for recent graduates, offering clear guidance, mentorship, and a steady learning curve.
You’ll begin with foundational training, gradually taking on more responsibility as you gain confidence in mobile network frameworks, testing methodologies, and automation/AI. Over time, you can progress into roles such as Integration Engineer, Network Engineer, or Test Specialist within Ericsson.
What You Will Do
Your journey starts with learning and growing, with increasing ownership as you develop expertise.
You will:
- Follow a structured onboarding plan, covering 4G/5G RAN concepts, Ericsson tools, and our methodologies via internal learning platforms and workshops.
- Shadow senior engineers during test planning, execution, and troubleshooting, then own simpler tasks with ongoing support.
- Assist in preparing and running test cases for new software versions, new features, and configuration changes under senior guidance.
- Gather, organise logs, traces, and basic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from test runs to help the team analyse results and resolve issues.
- Use existing automation frameworks and scripts to execute tests, then contribute improvements (e.g., log parsing, basic reporting) over time.
- Perform daily test environment tasks (e.g., applying software updates or basic configurations) once trained.
- Document test cases, results, and defects in standard tools (Azure DevOps/Jira) while writing clear notes for team transparency.
- Active participation in stand-ups, planning, retrospectives, collaboration across functions and locations, and proposing small process improvements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
