Junior Integration Engineer
Junior RAN Test Engineer
Role Overview
As a Junior RAN Test Engineer, you will join Ericsson’s RAN Test team and help ensure our 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions work flawlessly before deployment in live customer networks.
This early-career role is perfect for recent graduates, offering clear guidance, mentorship, and structured development in mobile networks, test methods, and automation. Over time, you can grow into roles such as Integration Engineer, Network Engineer, or Test Specialist while honing your skills.
What You Will Do
Your first months will focus on onboarding and learning, with increasing responsibility as you gain confidence. Key responsibilities include:

- Follow a structured initial plan covering:
- 4G/5G RAN concepts
- Ericsson’s proprietary tools
- Internal learning materials and local workshops

Hands-on Contribution
- Shadow experienced colleagues during test planning, execution, and troubleshooting
- Gradually take ownership of small, well-defined tasks with ongoing support

Test Execution & Reporting
- Assist in preparing and running test cases for new:
- Software loads
- Features
- Configuration changes
- Collect, organize, and analyze:
- Logs, traces, and basic KPIs from test runs
- Record results, defects, and test cases in standard tools (e.g., Azure DevOps/Jira)

Automation & Tools
- Use existing automation frameworks/scripts to run tests
- Over time, develop small improvements (e.g., log parsing, report generation)
- Assist with routine environment & tool management (e.g., software updates, configurations)

- Participate in team routines (stand-ups, planning, retrospectives)
- Work closely with colleagues across geographic functions
- Suggest incremental process improvements as identified
What You Will Bring

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields including:
- Telecommunications
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Networks & Security
Technical & Professional Background
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP, routing, latency, throughput)
- Exposure to Linux/UNIX (e.g., terminal, basic commands)
- Experience with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, Bash)—through education or personal projects
- Any hands-on testing experience (lab work, software/hardware testing)
