Junior Integration Engineer
Junior RAN Test Engineer
Role Overview
As a Junior RAN Test Engineer, you will join Ericsson’s RAN Test team and help ensure our 4G/5G Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions work as expected before deployment. This role is tailored for recent graduates, offering structured support, mentorship, and a clear progression path to build expertise in mobile networks, test methodologies, and automation.
You’ll start by learning core concepts and gradually take on increasing responsibility.Successful candidates will enjoy this role if they have:
- A fascination for understanding how complex systems function.
- A preference for problem-solving in a hands-on environment.
- Curiosity about mobile networks, software/system testing, and automation/AI.
Over time, you could advance toward roles like Integration Engineer, Network Engineer, or Test Specialist within Ericsson.
What You Will Do
In your initial months, you will focus on learning Ericsson’s tools, processes, and testing approaches. Your responsibilities will expand alongside your growing confidence and skills.
Your day-to-day activities will include:

- Complete a structured onboarding plan covering:
- 4G/5G RAN fundamentals.
- Ericsson’s tools and test methodologies.
- Working protocols via internal learning platforms and hands-on workshops.

Hands-on Learning & Task Ownership
- Shadow experienced Integration Engineers, Network Engineers, and Test Managers during test planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Gradually own small, well-defined testing tasks with support on hand.

- Assist in preparing and running test cases for:
- New software loads.
- Feature development.
- Configuration changes.
- Collaborate under guidance from senior engineers within the RAN test environment.

- Collect, organise, and analyse logs, traces, and KPIs from test runs.
- Enables the team to interpret results and debug issues.

- Record and document test cases, results, and defects in standard Ericsson tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira).

What You Will Bring
Ericsson values potential, enthusiasm, and adaptability over extensive prior experience.
Academic Background
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Telecommunications.
- Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Computer Science.
- Software Engineering.
- Networks & Security, or a related discipline.
Technical Foundations
- Curiosity and focus on mobile networks and software/system testing, such as:
- Basic networking concepts: IP, routing, latency, throughput.
- Linux/UNIX proficiency: Familiarity with terminal and command-line basics.
- Programming/scripting experience in languages such as:
- Python.
- Java.
- C/C++.
- Bash.
- Preference: Hands-on testing experience in software, systems, or lab environments (via coursework, projects, or internships).
