Company Description
Build By Thought Design Studio, established in mid-2021, is a design-led practice focused on transforming everyday spaces into meaningful experiences. The studio approaches architecture as a way to create environments that reflect core values, user functionality, and individual aspirations. Rather than emphasizing extravagance, the team defines luxury as depth, intention, and thoughtful layering. Projects are crafted to feel lived-in, authentic, and rich with personal and spatial significance. This philosophy guides the studio’s work across residential and commercial interiors.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Junior Interior Designer / Architect based in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom. The role involves assisting with concept development, space planning, and design detailing for interior and architectural projects. The Junior Designer will help prepare drawings, mood boards, material palettes, and presentations, and support the team in translating design concepts into clear documentation. Daily tasks include coordinating with senior designers and architects, updating project files, attending site visits, and supporting communication with suppliers and contractors. The role also includes researching products and materials, contributing to design reviews, and helping ensure that designs align with the studio’s philosophy of layered, meaningful spaces.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
