Purpose

About The Role

The purpose of this role is to support the 7IM Investment Management team. The Trainee will undertake meaningful work and projects crucial for the business; this will allow the trainee to build their skillset and knowledge. After 36 months working with all parts of the IM Team, it is expected that the trainee will make a joint decision with their Manager on the area they will like to move their career forward.

The role will enable the trainee to start their career in the Investment Management industry, providing them with an opportunity to learn about our business, our culture, values and how we provide an award-winning service to our clients.

Responsibilities

On our 36-month programme, you will get exposure across different areas of the investment business such as but not limited to:

  • Portfolio Management
  • Strategy and Investment Solutions

You will have the opportunity to contribute across all areas, gaining hands-on experience through day-to-day business activity and dedicated projects. These projects may be carried out either in a standalone capacity, with the necessary support from teams, or require collaboration with various stakeholders within the business.

Examples of the work you will undertake are:

  • Gathering and analysing data
  • Writing reports
  • Reviewing different investment products
  • Assisting with preparing presentations
  • Liaising with other teams to deliver client requests

Skills

About You

  • Ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously, with a high level of accuracy and able to deliver against set deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to build relationships across the team and with key teams across the business
  • Experience of delivering an excellent level of service to customers
  • Ability to work independently and using own initiative
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills

Knowledge

  • Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis
  • Some knowledge of Investment / wealth management industry

Qualifications

  • Educated at degree level

Other Relevant Information

  • Must be passionate, ambitious and motivated by a career within the Investment industry, with the ability to learn quickly and the desire to take on responsibility from day one
  • Must be flexible with a willingness to learn and take on new tasks
