Job Description
Great opportunity to start or grow your IT career
We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a real interest in IT to join our team as a Junior IT Engineer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone just starting out in IT or looking to kickstart their career. You don’t need to know everything already, we’re looking for someone who is eager to learn and takes pride in their work.
This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Shepton Mallet on a hybrid basis.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be one of the first points of contact for colleagues needing IT support, helping to keep things running smoothly across the business. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Providing friendly and effective IT support to end users
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Setting up laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and tablets
- Supporting systems like Windows 11, Microsoft Intune, and Active Directory
- Managing user accounts (new starters, leavers, and access changes)
- Logging and prioritising support requests
- Helping with software updates and new technology rollouts
- Supporting printers and office equipment
- Keeping track of IT equipment and assets
- Delivering IT inductions for new starters

What we’re looking for
This role is more about attitude than experience. We’re keen to hear from people who are:
- Eager to learn and develop their IT skills
- Naturally curious and enjoy problem-solving
- Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- A strong communicator who can talk to people at all levels
- A team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Someone who takes pride in delivering great service
Ideal (but not essential)
- A qualification in IT (A-Level, BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or similar)
- Some basic understanding of IT support tools or systems
