To support our continuing growth, Ward & Burke are looking for a motivated and hardworking IT Support Engineer to join our IT team and provide day-to-day support to our UK users.
This role is suited to a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving day-to-day technical issues, supporting users directly, and helping maintain reliable IT services across office and site environments.
The ideal candidate will be a practical, service-focused IT professional who is comfortable supporting users directly, managing device builds, troubleshooting everyday issues, and travelling to company sites when required. They will bring a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn across Microsoft 365, Intune, SharePoint, networking, and site-based IT support.
The role will be based primarily in Swillington, with regular travel to Ward & Burke offices and project sites as required. A full driving licence and access to a car are essential for this reason.
Key Responsibilities
- 1st Line Support: Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
- Desktop Building: Configure and deploy PCs for new and existing employees using Microsoft Intune.
- Network Setup: Assist in setting up and maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- User Training: Provide basic training and support to users on Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and other company tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members to ensure seamless IT operations and support.

The successful candidate will gain practical experience across Microsoft 365, Intune, SharePoint, device deployment, networking, and site-based IT support while working as part of a supportive IT team.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Required: Degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or related discipline.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Intune, and SharePoint.
- Hardware Skills: Experience in building and configuring desktops and laptops.
- Networking Basics: Understanding of basic network setup and troubleshooting.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Driving licence and access to a car required due to travel to company sites.

Desirable experience: Working in a construction, engineering, or multi-site environment; familiarity with ticketing systems; and basic knowledge of endpoint management, device security, and Microsoft 365 administration.
