The Role
We are seeking a Junior Lawyer to join our Europe, Africa & Middle East Legal Team, offering a unique opportunity to develop expertise in commercial and technology-driven contracts within an innovative, international environment.
This position involves working closely with Geoscience and High-Performance Computing (HPC) teams to support business activities while ensuring legal compliance, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Objectives
- Strengthen foundational knowledge in commercial contracting, licensing, and IP frameworks.
- Identify and escalate legal risks, contributing to proactive risk management.
- Enhance operational efficiency through contract standardization and record-keeping.
- Bridge legal considerations with technical and commercial teams to drive innovative commercial deals.
What You’ll Do
Core Responsibilities
- Contract Lifecycle Management
- Review, draft, and amend commercial and licensing agreements.
- Support contract negotiations with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare contract amendments, invoices, and ancillary documentation.
- Manage and maintain contract templates, tracking databases, and legal records.
- Ensure confidentiality and adherence to Viridien’s legal standards.

Business & Commercial Support
- Partner with Geoscience, HPC sales, and marketing teams.
- Assist Procurement, HR, Facilities, and Operational teams by translating legal requirements into practical guidance.
- Participate in deal flow under senior legal supervision.
- Escalate legal and compliance issues as needed.

Compliance & Risk Management
- Align contracts with Viridien’s legal, compliance, and regulatory policies.
- Collaborate with Tax, Compliance, Insurance, and Finance teams.
- Support adherence to local and international regulatory requirements.
- Provide first-line legal advice, escalating to senior counsel when required.
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications & Experience

Degree in Law, Business Law, Corporate Law, Commercial Law, or equivalent. (OR) high-level equivalentి(criticalLaw*) discretion and geting to Zipping-builder који Baganda.

Prior experience in contract negotiation, drafting, review, or interpretation.

Strong contract literacy: ability to create, analyze, and negotiate agreements.

Low level of scientific and technical concepts—may operate without prior exposure.

- Detail-oriented, organized, and highly reliable with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
- Collegiate and collaborative, capable of working effectively in a multicultural and international team.

- Proactive and adaptable, equipped to handle priority management in a dynamic environment.

- Experience freelancing or serving as individual contributor in a fast-paced environment.
