About Us
Hydro Industries is a growing water treatment and environmental solutions company delivering water, wastewater, desalination, industrial treatment, and infrastructure projects for municipal and industrial clients. We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Junior Legal Counsel to support our legal and contractual operations across corporate, project, and commercial matters.
Role Overview
The Junior Legal Counsel will provide legal support across the company’s operations, with a focus on corporate legal matters, project contracts, commercial agreements, compliance, and risk management. The role requires someone who can work independently while collaborating closely with project, commercial, finance, and management teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in corporate law and project contracting, particularly within engineering, infrastructure, utilities, EPC, environmental, or industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate & Commercial Legal Support
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including:
- Service agreements
- Supply and procurement contracts
- Consultancy agreements
- NDAs and confidentiality agreements
- Vendor and subcontractor agreements
- Joint venture or partnership agreements
- Provide legal advice on day-to-day commercial matters and contractual risks.
- Support legal structuring of new business opportunities and transactions.

Project Contracts
- Review and negotiate project contracts, including:
- Design-build agreements
- O&M (Operations & Maintenance) agreements
- Construction and engineering contracts
- Equipment supply agreements
- Assist project teams in identifying, mitigating, and managing contractual risks.
- Support contract administration and claims-related matters.
Corporate Law & Governance
- Advise on corporate legal matters, including:
- Corporate governance
- Board resolutions and corporate records
- Company secretarial support
- Shareholder and investment documentation
- Support legal compliance for subsidiaries, partnerships, and corporate entities.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when required.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with regulatory matters relevant to the water treatment/environmental sector.
- Support internal compliance processes, policies, and legal risk frameworks.
- Maintain legal templates and contract management systems.
Dispute & Claims Support
- Assist with legal disputes, contract claims, and pre-litigation matters.
- Coordinate documentation and communications with external counsel where necessary.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Qualification
- Qualified solicitor/lawyer/legal counsel in UK or equivalent legal qualification.
- 2–5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience preferred (flexible depending on candidate profile).

Experience
Essential:
- Experience in corporate law and commercial contracting.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating project contracts.
- Strong understanding of contractual risk allocation and negotiation.
Preferred:
- Experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, utilities, environmental services, or water treatment sectors.
- Familiarity with EPC, O&M, FIDIC, or construction-related contracts.
- In-house legal experience is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Commercially pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
