The Role
One of our platinum accounts is currently looking to onboard Junior Linux System Administrators at various experience levels. The ideal candidate will thrive in a cross-team environment, bringing innovation, analytical thinking, and a meticulous eye for detail. This role focuses on implementing standards, policies, and procedures to drive continuous service improvement.

Core Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-line technical support for incidents and problems
- Monitor system performance and ensure seamless operational functionality
- Create, maintain, and leverage comprehensive documentation
- Assist in process compliance and policy adherence
What You Bring to the Team
The right candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Familiarity with ITIL best practices
- A problem-solver’s mindset, eager to identify root causes
- Commitment to knowledge-sharing and continuous learning
- A proactive approach to risk identification and analysis
Desirable Skills & Technologies
Proficiency or familiarity with the following would be advantageous:
- UNIX/Linux systems (Red Hat, Debian, Solaris, AIX)
- Shell scripting (Bash, KornShell)
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Tools like Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef
- Process & job control (cron, at, systemd timers)
- Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, FTP)
- Filesystem management (LVM, ext4, XFS, ZFS)
- Performance tuning & monitoring (top, vmstat, iostat, sar, netstat)
- Experience with automation avenues, particularly Ansible or Puppet
- Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python + version control with Git)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
- Exposure to virtualisation & containers (KVM, VMware, Docker, Podman)
