Location: Sandbach, Cheshire
Company Salary: £22,000 - £26,000 per annum
Junior Mechanical Engineer / CNC Trainee
Salary: £22,000 – £27,000 DOE (Junior / Entry Level)
Hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:45am – 12:45pm
Holiday: 20 days + Bank Holidays
Christmas Shutdown
Overtime: Available
About The Company
Our client is a well-established precision engineering business with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality machining solutions to customers across aerospace, automotive, rail, pharmaceutical, energy and general engineering sectors.
Due to continued growth and investment in advanced manufacturing technology, they are looking to recruit a Junior Mechanical Engineer / CNC Trainee to join their skilled engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in CNC machining, precision engineering or manufacturing.
The Role
This role is ideal for a college leaver, engineering apprentice, or junior engineer with some workshop or technical experience who is keen to develop skills in CNC machining and precision engineering.

You will receive training and support to learn how to set, operate and assist with CNC machinery, working towards producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in setting and operating CNC machines under supervision
- Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Support manufacture of precision components
- Carry out basic inspection using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- Assist senior engineers with machining and workshop tasks
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Follow health & safety procedures at all times
- Develop skills in CNC machining, tooling and production processes
- Support general workshop and production activities
Essential Skills & Experience

- Basic understanding of engineering or manufacturing (college course, apprenticeship or workshop experience)
- Interest in CNC machining, mechanical engineering or precision engineering
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Basic maths and technical understanding
- Full clean driving License
Desirable Skills
- Engineering qualification (BTEC / NVQ / HNC / Apprenticeship)
- Some experience in a workshop or CNC environment
- Understanding of engineering drawings
- Basic knowledge of machining or hand tools
