The role Based in the London Head Office, reporting to the Head of Merchandising and Planning, the Junior Merchandiser is responsible for supporting the Merchandising team, in allocations, reporting and sales analysis across the DTC business. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a candidate who can demonstrate a commercial and analytical mindset and leverage their merchandising knowledge to drive the Theory EU Business. Key responsibilities and duties Allocations Twice weekly review of replenishment requirements for stores and any issues highlighted, with suggested opportunities. This should be done at individual store level, reviewing sales, stock and cover to ensure sales are potentialized, however ensuring stores are kept below option and stock capacities. Ideal replenishment will be input in put into the system and confirmed with the logistics team Create and maintain the Allocation plan for new seasonal launches. This should be built and reviewed pre-season and maintained weekly with the Merchandising team. Historic analysis should be conducted and IAQ’s per store should be amended in relation to performance and opportunities identified. The allocation strategy will be built by gender by category by style at store level. Initial orders for stores should be built pre-season based on the analysis and input in the system Weekly store visits should be undertaken to understand replenishments needs and store feedback A strong relationship should be built with DTC and Logistics teams to ensure departmental collaboration. Trading Support the Merchandising team to produce weekly trade reports for the Weekly DTC meeting. Weekly and Monthly review of sales to deliver the planned sales and profitability of Theory DTC. This will be achieved through undertaking department analysis at a Total and individual store and Ecom level: reviewing category and style level details. Helping to suggest informed business decisions to drive the business to meet sales targets. Proactively suggesting and making trading decisions to improve sales performance and identify and highlight issues with possible solutions Ensure stock levels are maintained and managed at a level to optimize Theory DTC performance. Reviewing Retail and Ecom stock levels and availability weekly and managing replenishment and new season releases to drive sales but ensure stock levels are managed in relation to store capacities. Work with the planning team to ensure Theory core product is “never out of stock” and managed in accordance with department OTB budget and stock levels in relation to sales. Review any upcoming promotions and provide style level information and suggested discounts. Also, proactively suggest promotional opportunities for any poor performing areas Provide Ad-hoc support to the merchandising team as require supporting the needs of the department. Key skills and requirements Has previous experience in Merchandising within a fast-paced and rapidly changing Global Retailer Demonstrates the ability to support the success of a department through creative and commercial thinking. Embraces and champions the benefits of change within the wider team. Can confidently present the department performance and strategy to the team and management. Shows a great understanding of the customer and customer segmentation and reflects this in decision making. Demonstrates a commercial and analytical mindset, using data and insights to leverage opportunities that successfully contribute to the department and wider strategy. Shows strong awareness of current trends, Retail market conditions and opportunities within a Global context. Builds great relationships with Global HQ and internal stakeholders Has strong systems skills, including advanced Excel and relevant trading systems. Highly accurate with a strong attention to detail. Ability to manage a varied workload with conflicting deadlines. Commercially focused with excellent analytical and numeracy skills.
