Have you recently graduated in Model Making or a related course? Do you love making things, solving problems and working with your hands?

At Scale Models Weston, we create museum-quality scale models for clients in the superyacht, commercial marine, defence and exhibition industries.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Junior Model Maker to join our experienced workshop team. You'll work alongside highly skilled craftspeople who will help you develop the techniques, confidence and experience needed to become a professional model maker.

What you'll be doing

As part of our workshop team, you'll learn how to:

  • Manufacture high-quality scale models from technical drawings and CAD data.
  • Build model components using a wide variety of materials, including wood, plastics, acrylics and metals.
  • Operate workshop machinery safely and accurately.
  • Assemble and finish detailed model components.
  • Prepare models for painting and exhibition-quality presentation.
  • Use modern manufacturing techniques, including laser cutting and 3D printing.
  • Support the team of model makers throughout the production process.
  • Develop your 3D Rhino and practical workshop skills while working on real client projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
