Junior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

£40,000 + Overtime (OTE- £50,000) + Training

Preston

Are you a Junior Maintenance Engineer, Trainee Maintenance Engineer, Engineering Graduate, or similar with any hands-on mechanical or electrical knowledge ideally with a background in FMCG, looking to join an established company offering training, uncapped overtime at enhanced rates, and long-term career stability?

On offer is the opportunity to join a family-owned manufacturing business that values its employees and has built a strong reputation for staff retention and long-term development. You will receive training on the company's machinery while working in a hands-on maintenance role, supporting production by keeping equipment running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

In this varied role, you will diagnose breakdowns, carry out repairs, complete routine inspections, planned preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate service records using a CMMS system. You will also manage stock of components and fittings, carry out welding and fabrication duties, and work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and support continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
