About the role

Ready to turn your networking knowledge into real-world experience? Whether you've recently graduated with a Network or Security-focused degree or earned your CCNA, this is an exciting opportunity to start your career with a team that will support your professional growth from day one.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Network Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their networking career who is eager to learn, develop technical expertise, and gain hands-on experience supporting a wide range of customer network infrastructures.

The role will initially involve a period of training and onboarding in Cardiff, working alongside experienced engineers to build your technical knowledge and confidence. Once fully trained and up to speed, you will join our 24/7 support rota, attracting a competitive shift allowance in addition to your salary. The role will also involve regular travel to a customer site in Cambridge, providing valuable exposure to networking environments and direct customer engagement.

As a Junior Network Support Engineer, you will assist with the day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of our customers' corporate network infrastructures, helping to ensure reliability, performance, and security across critical business systems.

Please note that this is a Hybrid role with onsite requirement 3 days a week. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required due to the nature of the role.

What you’ll do

  • Installation & Configuration

    • Assist with the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of networking hardware and services, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
  • Monitoring & Maintenance

    • Proactively monitor network performance and availability using industry-standard monitoring tools, carrying out routine maintenance and supporting planned upgrades to ensure optimal reliability.
  • Troubleshooting & Support

    • Provide first and second-line support for network-related incidents, diagnosing and resolving connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
  • Documentation

    • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configuration records, procedures, and support knowledge articles.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
