About The Role

The Role:

As a Packaging Operator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our world-class beers are packaged to the highest standards. Working on our canning, bottling, and kegging lines, you’ll be responsible for operating machinery, performing quality checks, and keeping production running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a packaging or production environment is preferable but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to work our 24/7 shift pattern consisting of 4 days on, 4 off 7am-7pm and 4 nights on, 4 off 7pm-7am.
  • Passion for craft beer and brewing is a plus!

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards by strictly following workplace safety protocols, to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Monitor product quality during packaging by conducting regular inspections, ensuring that beer bottles, cans, kegs, and labels meet quality standards for consumer safety and satisfaction.
  • Operate packaging machinery safely and effectively, ensuring the packaging line runs smoothly whilst preventing production downtime and maintaining output targets.
  • Conduct routine cleaning of equipment by performing regular hygiene tasks, which helps prevent contamination and ensures equipment operates at optimal performance levels.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals by assisting colleagues and following instructions, helping to achieve set packaging targets within scheduled timeframes.
  • Perform the setup and changeover of packaging lines by assisting with adjustments and settings for different bottle/can sizes or packaging formats, ensuring the smooth transition between different product runs.
  • Report safety hazards and production issues to supervisors by promptly identifying and communicating risks or equipment malfunctions, minimising downtime and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Help to implement continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and supporting process improvements, which increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the packaging line while reducing waste and costs.
  • Complete required training and certification programs by actively participating in safety, quality, and equipment training sessions, ensuring the role is performed with the highest level of competence and compliance.

  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitising processes.
  • Ability to perform quality checks on packaging (fill levels, seals, labels).
  • Understanding of workplace safety protocols and equipment handling.
  • Safe use of cleaning and sanitising chemicals.
  • Effective time management to meet production schedules.
  • Ability to work well in a team and communicate issues clearly.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills to track production data.
