Responsibilities

You’ll join a collaborative team spanning two offices, supporting fee earners across key property specialisms—commercial property, development, landed estates, rural property, charity, not-for-profit, and residential property. Your role will involve:

  • Handling Land Registry applications and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) submissions
  • Conducting property searches, preparing reports, and advising fee earners
  • Obtaining and arranging indemnity insurance cover
  • Managing post-completion processes, including Land Registry filings and associated admin
  • Supporting residential property transactions through to finalisation and beyond
  • Assisting with legal documentation, such as statutory declarations
  • Drafting routine legal correspondence and standardised documents
  • Managing file opening/closing and coordinating financial tasks
  • Undertaking source of funds/wealth checks
  • Maintaining accurate time recordings and case records
  • Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and CQS standards
  • Delivering exceptional client care
  • Staying updated with property law changes via training and professional development

Requirements

  • Law degree (or equivalent) with enthusiasm for a legal career
  • Practical administrative or office-based experience (desirable)
  • Proficient IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities
  • Adaptable, flexible, and team-ready
  • Ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels
  • Organisational and attention-to-detail strengths
