Junior Planner
Structure Tone: Entry-Level Construction Planner – London (Junior Planner)
Structure Tone is a market-leading fit-out and refurbishment contractor, delivering high-quality commercial workplace projects for some of the world’s most recognised brands. As our London business continues to grow, we are seeking an entry-level Construction Planner to support a major commercial fit-out project from inception through to handover.
About the Role
As a Junior Planner, you will work collaboratively with a Senior Planner, supporting construction sequencing, programme updates, and short-term planning while receiving structured training and mentoring to develop long-term skills in construction planning.
Ideal for recent graduates or those early in their careers looking to build a robust foundation in construction planning. We pride ourselves on a promote-from-within culture and investing in the next generation of planning professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Foundations
- Basic grasp of construction sequencing (MEP, finishes).
- Understanding of master programmes and look-ahead schedules.
Weekly/Monthly Programme Updates
- Assisting in tracking actual vs. planned progress (recorded start/finish dates and completion percentages).
Short-Term Planning (4-Week Look-Ahead)
- Creating look-ahead programmes and proactively identifying potential constraints or scheduling clashes.
Planning Software Proficiency (Training Level Acceptable)
- Basic task updates in Asta Powerproject or Microsoft Project (no full build yet).
- Updating progress trackers, logistics, and simple reports.
- Familiarity with Excel (filtering, pivot tables, formulas).

Document Awareness & Coordination
- Understanding plans, schedules, and site documentation, ensuring aligned planning.
- Linking planning activities with the latest site information.
Site Collaboration
- Shadowing Site Managers and Engineers to gather progress updates.
- Participation in site meetings and planning sessions.
Subcontractor Engagement & Coordination
- Collecting programme inputs from tradespeople under supervision.
- Recording key deliverables (e.g., materials, access approvals, equipment).
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Basic awareness of construction H&S standards (following all site rules).
- Assimilating knowledge of inspections & permits, with a focus on safety milestones.
