About Mettis

We design, manufacture and assemble precision forged and machined components at our fully integrated facility in the heart of the UK. Our vision is not only to be the best at what we do but to continually set new standards in the industry by investing and innovating. That’s why we have been pioneers in our industry for over eighty years. We are forging the future today.

About the Role

This role is suitable for someone developing their career in production planning, manufacturing planning, or supply chain, as well as candidates with relevant transferable experience. The Junior Planner will work within Operations, reporting to the Head of Planning and working closely with the Head of Business and Master Production Scheduler. This role plays an important part in supporting the effective planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing activity across the Business Unit, ensuring products are manufactured and delivered in line with customer requirements.

This will include assisting with capacity planning, material readiness, tooling availability, press utilisation, WIP control, subcontract management, and the integration of new products into the manufacturing workflow.

This is a hands-on planning role requiring accuracy, organisation, clear communication, and the ability to respond effectively to changing customer, material, and operational priorities.

As a condition of employment, successful candidates are required to satisfy ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance and must fulfil the following before commencing this role:

  • Currently hold the legal Right to Work in the UK
  • Fulfil a DBS clearance
  • Provide a consistent 5-year UK domicile

  • Support subcontract product management, including requisitioning, supplier delivery performance, and progress monitoring
  • Work with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to support effective production flow
  • Respond to customer, material, tooling, and operational changes to help protect schedule adherence
  • Support the integration of new products into the manufacturing workflow through NPI activities
  • Maintain accurate planning and manufacturing data within EFACS or relevant business systems
  • Escalate risks to delivery, capacity, tooling, material availability, or subcontract performance in a timely manner

Safety Responsibilities

  • Comply with EHS and legislative standards
  • Adhere to all PPE and safety policy requirements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
