Junior Practice Assistant (PA) (Criminal Litigation)
Location: London Hours: 9.30am – 5.30pm, Monday – Friday (flexible applications considered) Department: Practice Support
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Junior Practice Assistant to join our London-based Practice Support team. This role offers a step up in responsibility with an allocation of Fee Earners in the Criminal Litigation team, supporting day-to-day operations collaboratively.
This role is hybrid and requires presence at the office for 4 days a week during probation, reducing to 2-3 days thereafter.
Important Note: This role provides support for business functions and does not offer progression into a legal or paralegal career.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality general administrative support to tight deadlines
- Manage diary coordination, meeting logistics, room bookings and coordinate conference calls
- Arrange travel logistics while researching cost-effective options
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients via phone and email
- Handle e-filing, mailbox management, document retrieval, copying, and collation
- Oversee file and matter management (openings, document prep, CRM updates, and archiving)
- Support financial administration (expenses, disbursements, client balances, and transfers)
- Liaise with internal teams—Finance, IT, People & Culture, Business Development & Marketing, Office Services

Requirements
You should have:
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics
- Strong IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience working in busy, deadline-driven environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Independent initiative, ability to prioritise and problem-solve
- Professional discretion with strict confidentiality adherence
- A reliable, team-focused attitude aligned with collaborative values
