Junior Production Manager – Permanent Role

Founded in 1999 by Fazila Malek and her husband Abdul, Fazila Foods is a trusted benchmark in the Halal food industry.

With operations based in our production facility in Bolton, we supply over 450 SPAR stores across the north of England. As part of the James Hall & Co. Ltd. family, we’re committed to quality, safety, and continuous growth.


Contract & Location

  • Contract Type: Permanent
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7 (including weekends), 14:00–22:00 Flexibility will be required.
  • Location: Fazila Foods, Britannia Business Park, 27 Waters Meeting Rd, Bolton BL2 2HH

About the Role

The Junior Production Manager will support daily production operations while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, efficiency, and employee engagement. This role demands a proactive, adaptable individual capable of contributing to multiple functions, including Health & Safety, Human Resources, Training, and Production.

In collaboration with the Production Management team, you’ll drive continuous improvement, workforce development, and operational performance—ensuring full compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.


Responsibilities

As the Junior Production Manager, your core duties will include:

  • Health & Safety Leadership
    • Supporting and promoting a strong Health & Safety culture across the business.
    • Maintaining and developing Safe Systems of Work (SSW) and Risk Assessments (RA).

  • Inspections & Compliance

    • Conducting workplace inspections, audits, and accident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented timeously.
    • Supporting internal and external audits, managing non-conformances to completion.
  • Food Safety & Quality

    • En.forcing exceptional food safety, hygiene, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
    • Investigating customer complaints and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Employee Engagement & Performance

    • Managing employee attendance and conducting Return-to-Work interviews alongside risk assessments.
    • Supporting employee investigations, disciplinary processes, and grievance resolutions.
  • Training & Documentation

    • Maintaining training records and delivering training sessions.
    • Updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) where necessary.
  • Production Efficiency

    • Assisting with production planning and labour allocation to meet customer demand and optimise productivity.
    • Monitoring production performance, analysing KPIs, and producing relevant reports.
  • Collaborative Continuous Improvement

    • Working closely with managers, supervisors, and teams to identify and implement operational improvements.

Requirements

We’re seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented professional with:

  • A proactive attitude, strong ownership, and a passion for working with people.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and relevant production reporting systems.
  • The ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to engage across departments.
  • A positive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining standards.
  • The ability to motivate, support, and positively influence colleagues.
