This post is part of ESA’s Junior Professional Programme.
We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with up to 3 years of relevant professional experience after their Master's degree to join ESA for a four-year assignment. During this time, you will be actively working and learning on the job and will benefit from valuable mobility and developmental opportunities that will prepare you for a successful career at ESA. Subject to performance, it is therefore the intention to offer you an indefinite contract which will start at the end of the four years.
Recruitment will take place at the A1 grade on the Coordinated Organisations’ salary scale. At the end of the fourth year and if you are offered an indefinite contract at the end of your Junior Professional assignment, you will be upgraded to the A2 grade.

Description
The Junior Professional in Market Intelligence is part of the Market and Business Intelligence Section in the Future Programmes Division within the Systems, Strategic Programme Lines and Technology Department in the Directorate of Resilience, Navigation and Connectivity.
The Market and Business Intelligence Section is responsible for the analysis and business intelligence of markets and businesses relevant to connectivity and secure communications, as well as for defining and providing market guidance for the Directorate’s programme and business development.
As part of our dynamic, collaborative and passionate team, you will shape the future of the space industry by contributing to market intelligence, financial analysis and socioeconomic impact assessments to support the activities of the ESA Directorate of Resilience, Navigation and Connectivity.
Duties
Your Tasks And Responsibilities Will Include
- Gathering and analysing market and business information in the domains of satellite connectivity, telecommunications and related vertical sectors, generating actionable insights and guidance concerning the evolution of the Resilence, Navigation and Connectivity programmes;
- Analysing trends, opportunities and threats, as well as the evolution of the business environment in a European context and as part of the global space economy;
- Generating regular reports on the general market evolution and specific reports on significant aspects at market segment level, including the verticalisation of markets and the merging of space markets into the wider telecommunications ecosystems;
- Supporting a systematic approach for the collection of market information;
- Maintaining the RNC Market Intelligence toolsets;
- Training users on internal business intelligence processes and tools;
- Suggesting business analysis tools to support the analysis of the changing environment (such as the use of natural language processing (NLP) and large language models (LLMs));
- Collecting, analysing and disseminating socioeconomic impact data, looking for new and innovative ways to extract insights from large volumes of data.

Education And Professional Experience
A master's degree in Market and Data Analytics or another technical or business discipline with up to three years of professional experience.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
