We are hiring a Junior Project Controller to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This position supports our current engagement where our partner is a West Midlands infrastructure group. You will help us track project details and ensure that the administrative side of the work stays organized and clear for all involved.

About the Role

Olive Tree Consulting works to remove the friction that slows teams down. In this entry level position, you will support our consultants by keeping an eye on project timelines and resources for a large infrastructure project. Your work helps ensure that the strategy we set with the client actually translates into daily practice. You will be the person who makes sure that when a decision is made, it is recorded and followed up on correctly. This is not about managing people, but about managing the information that helps people do their jobs better.

What You Will Do

  • Update and maintain project tracking documents to reflect current status and changes.
  • Attend remote meetings to capture clear, concise notes and record specific action items.
  • Help organize project schedules and resource allocations to prevent delays.
  • Draft weekly status reports that prioritize plain language over technical jargon.
  • Monitor project spending and budget updates to flag potential issues early.
  • Coordinate with client team members to gather documentation and verify project milestones.
  • Support the creation of simple, written records that replace the need for constant meetings.
  • Maintain the project filing system so all team members can find what they need quickly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Olive Tree

Olive Tree Consulting Group is a focused advisory practice that helps leadership teams solve recurring management issues. We typically work on the space between strategy and daily execution. A team can have very capable people and still find that decisions keep reopening, priorities stall, or responsibility remains unclear. These are rarely personality problems: they are structural habits that have not kept up with the company growth. We favor practical changes over large scale reorganization programs. Our work involves looking at how decisions are made, how meetings are run, and how ownership is recorded. We prefer useful written notes and clear ownership over polished presentations and vague alignment. Good advisory work should make things plainer and leave the team with a rhythm they can continue on their own. The firm is built on the principle that memory is not a management system. We help teams create the smallest possible written record to support their work so that important follow up does not depend on who was in the room or who has the best memory. The goal is a quieter management pattern that makes the existing work easier to lead.
