Junior Project Designer - 3 Month Internship

Summer Placement Opportunity – Global VM & Display Team

About Paul Smith

Paul Smith is one of Britain’s leading independent design companies. We champion positivity, curiosity, and creativity—values that shape every design, from garments to flagship stores and exclusive collaborations.

Since 1970, we’ve upheld "classic with a twist" as our guiding principle, seamlessly blending high fashion, formalwear, and contemporary storytelling. Proudly defying norms, Paul Smith continues to stand apart in the global design landscape.

The Opportunity

We are offering a 3-month summer placement (June–August 2026) in our Global Visual Merchandising (VM) & Display team, taking place between:

  • 2 months of collaboration with the Senior Project Designer
  • 1 month of independent project management, ensuring timely delivery for key deadlines.

Ideal for creative design students or recent graduates seeking hands-on retail experience, this role bridges concept and execution while shaping retail environments for the AW26 season. Dive into a vibrant team that fuses style, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will span concept-to-installation across the global retail ecosystem:

  • Concept & Design Development
    • Support in developing pop-up shops, showrooms, and temporary displays aligned with the global VM strategy.
    • Craft UK, European, and US-specific pop-up installations independently, ensuring locality and relevance.
    • Design bespoke 3D visualisations for approvable presentations to Sir Paul Smith and executive leadership.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
