Junior Project Engineer

Program Duration: 12-month contract Rate: £25 – £30 per hour Start Date: ASAP (Maximum 2 weeks notice period) Location: Bicester (internal operations) and Woking (customer site) – Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

About the Role

We are a pioneer and leading manufacturer of premium smart electric vehicles. We are currently seeking 2–3 Junior Project Engineers for our programme.

The Project Engineer role is both adaptive and professional, serving as a key technical liaison between departments, external suppliers, and our high-profile client. You will lead projects from concept to completion, ensuring strategic partnership schemes align with objectives while maintaining deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end engineering projects from initial concept to final delivery, adhering to deadlines, budget, and quality criteria.
  • Act as a technical liaison for the client project, collaborating across internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Engage with internal teams, senior management, customers, and stakeholders to align expectations and maintain progress.
  • Manage programmes actively—going beyond deliverable tracking to oversee milestone achievements.
  • Apply creative engineering problem-solving to address unique design and project challenges.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 2–3 years of experience in an engineering or project management role (or a strong graduate willing to be trained).
  • A strong Project Management (PM) background is essential.
  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven ability in multi-disciplinary engineering with a willingness to learn and explore new areas.
  • Excellent communication skills, including stakeholder interaction with engineers, senior leadership, and clients.

Travel Requirements

  • Must have the ability to commute reliably to Bicester for internal operations.
  • Regular travel required between Bicester and Woking (customer-facing work).
  • Open to additional UK travel as needed by the project scope.
