**Job Title: Junior Project Manager – Engineering & Construction
Location: Bridgewater, Somerset On-Site Days: 3–4 days per week Clearance Required: BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) Experience Level: 5–10 years of operational experience
About the Role
As a Junior Project Manager – Engineering & Construction, you’ll join our team in Somerset to support major infrastructure and nuclear-sector projects. This role involves leading the full lifecycle delivery of multidisciplinary projects while ensuring cost, schedule, risk, and quality control within highly regulated environments.
You’ll manage stakeholders, contractors, and project teams, delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality engineering outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Leading project delivery from concept to handover, ensuring on-time and compliant outcomes.
- Developing and implementing engineering design, contract, and execution strategies.
- Managing multi-discipline EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Management) projects across all phases.
- Ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, and quality objectives using Earned Value Management (EVM), estimating, scheduling, and risk monitoring.
- Applying project controls tools (cost, planning, risk management).
- Implementing robust risk mitigation strategies and compliance with CDM Regulations (Construction (Design and Management) Regulations).
- Managing complex contracts under NEC (New Engineering Contract) and FIDIC (Federation Internationale des Ingénieurs-Conseils) guidelines.
- Overseeing procurement strategies and contractor performance, including commercial claims, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
- Engaging with multi-level stakeholders (clients, contractors, consultants, regulators) and facilitating decision-making.
- Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring nuclear quality standards are met.
- Maintaining environmental and security compliance.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent military experience).
- Technical Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of project management frameworks (aligned with Association for Project Management – APM Competency Standards).
- Proven leadership in complex, high-value engineering projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools (cost, planning, risk, EVM).
- Analytical, numerical, and critical reasoning skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and facilitation abilities.
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Understanding of nuclear quality assurance and graded quality approaches.

Desirable:
- Experience in nuclear energy or highly regulated sectors.
- Working knowledge of French.
- Demonstrated success in:
- Managing engineering design and field execution strategies.
- Delivering EPCM projects.
- Overseeing construction activities and contractor management.
- Managing complex procurement and contract strategies.
