Graduate Project Planning & Governance Specialist (NEU PMO) – Ericsson

About the Opportunity

Are you a recent graduate eager to kickstart your career in project planning, project governance, and project financial management within a global technology company?

Join Ericsson’s North Europe Project Office (NEU PMO) and gain hands-on experience supporting Customer Project Managers, Planners, and project finance teams in planning, coordinating, and reporting on customer projects. This role is tailored for graduates who thrive on data, structure, and continuous learning, and want to build expertise in project delivery, reporting, and responsible business practices.

Over 12 months, you’ll receive structured support, training, and mentoring while honing your skills in project management, governance, and reporting—setting you up for future roles within the PMO.


Your Responsibilities

You will assist the NEU PMO team in executing structured project planning, reporting, and governance activities. Key tasks include:

  • Supporting customer project planning, reporting, and governance, including:
    • Translating project and contract information into clear planning inputs, customer deliverables, milestones, and dependencies under guidance.
    • Collaborating with Customer Project Managers to refine inputs and action plans.
  • Aiding in project planning and scheduling using tools such as:
    • Site Tracker
    • Global Chronos
    • SAP
  • Preparing and maintaining:
    • Project status reports
    • Dashboards
    • Action trackers to provide clear visibility on progress, risks, issues, and forecasts for stakeholders.
  • Ensuring project documentation is up-to-date, version-controlled, and audit-ready, supporting effective governance.
  • Conducting data analysis to identify:
    • Gaps
    • Inconsistencies
    • Potential risks and escalating findings to Customer Project Managers or finance/senior planning teams.
  • Working closely with:
    • Local and global teams (e.g., Customer Project Managers, Network Program Directors, Implementation Managers, Project Finance Managers)
    • Engineers, delivery teams, customers, and partners

Development & Mentoring

This role includes a 12-month structured development programme, where you’ll:

  • Learn Ericsson’s ways of working and NEU PMO best practices.
  • Train on project tools, reporting routines, and financial processes.
  • Shadow experienced professionals (e.g., Project Planners, Project Managers, and MCOs).
  • Progressively take greater ownership of planning and reporting activities.
  • Receive regular feedback, a clear development plan, and access to Ericsson learning resources.

This role is ideally suited for ambitious graduates ready to grow and contribute within the PMO environment.

Eligibility & Skills

  • A recent university degree (or equivalent) in subjects such as:
    • Business
    • Engineering
    • Project Management
    • Finance
    • Economics
    • Data/Analytics or related fields.
  • Strong motivation to build a career in:
    • Project Management
    • PMO functions
    • Project Financial Management within Ericsson.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail—comfortable working with:
    • Numbers
    • Data
    • Structured information.
  • Exceptional organisational skills:
    • Ability to multitask efficiently
    • Follow-through to delivery and completion.
  • Clear and confident communication:
    • Both written and verbal.
    • Ability to tailor messages to different stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and culturally agile, with strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Proactive and growth-oriented, with a curiosity for continuous improvement:
    • Open to feedback
    • Eager to learn new tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with standard office tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word). (Experience with planning, reporting, or analytics tools is a plus.)
  • Fluent English (professional proficiency).
  • Additional languages are a valuable asset.
