Job Description
Due to internal progression and the growth of the Index team, we're looking to hire a Junior Python Developer - Index Analytics and Technology to provide support with implementing the development on various in-house fund management tools, that assist our Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers in the management of funds
A varied role offering exposure to many internal teams within L&G Asset Management, individuals will need to have proven experience of building internal relationships, will have knowledge of the programming language Python, and will thrive on automating processes and working proactively to problem solve issues for our clients

What you'll be doing:
- Providing support on and carrying out development on various in-house fund management tools that assist Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers in the management of funds
- Participating in ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative research and preparing material for investment reports as required
- Helping in analysing corporate actions and recommending action to take
- Assisting with client servicing, including responding to client requests and preparing materials for client and consultant presentations
- Producing various reports including fund holding, attribution, and risk reports on a regular basis
- Assisting with analyses of portfolio breakdowns and transfers, index construction and changes
- Analysing and attributing portfolio performance
- Automating processes and proactively solving issues for internal stakeholders
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Previous experience of working within Investment Management or finance is preferable, however we will also consider candidates with proven programming skills from other industries
- Proven knowledge of Python or demonstrable experience with another coding language is essential
- A demonstrable knowledge of a variety of asset classes, with a focus on index preferable
- Creative, with the ability to identify potential issues, and create solutions accordingly
- Experience of developing processes to improve/support client requests advantageous
- Proactive, and keen to learn and develop.
- Have previously reviewed or evaluated index strategies and/or previous experience in evaluating benchmarks
