We are currently seeking an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with two years’ experience in a main contracting environment.
Position Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor at Ernest Park, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates, managing budgets, ordering materials and plant, generally supporting the business thus ensuring financial efficiency. You will work closely with the Directors, Project Managers, Engineers, and other contractors to deliver successful projects that meet our clients’ needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects and works packages.
- Tendering: Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids, and assist in the selection of contractors and suppliers.
- Contract Administration: Review, negotiate, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with project specifications and company standards.
- Project Analysis: Analyse project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Cost Reporting: Produce regular financial reports, including cost forecasts and budget variances, to provide insights to project stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Value Engineering: Identify and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering solutions without compromising quality.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, contracts, and project documentation.

Qualifications
- Education: We shall consider applicants who are currently undergoing part time education or have already obtained a construction industry related qualification such as Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on main contracting.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient in using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and specialized QS software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing cost estimates and financial reports.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
