Junior Renal Technician

A vacancy has become available for a Junior Renal Technician for University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust.

About the Role

The Sussex Kidney Unit provides care for patients across Sussex on a hub and spoke model. The main dialysis unit is based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, and there are satellite units that the Renal Technician service cover at Worthing and Bexhill.

Maintenance and repair of dialysis machines and related equipment is essential for the health and safety of dialysis patients. The post holder needs to hold a minimum of higher national certificate in a relevant science or engineering field is required and ideally experience in renal technology or other clinical engineering background.

The post holder is required to travel across Sussex, visiting satellite units and patients in their own homes and so a full UK driving license is also essential.

Please note: This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules, which set specific salary and skill thresholds. As such, we are unable to provide sponsorship for this post. Applicants will therefore need to already have the right to work in the UK to be considered. We include this information at the outset to provide clarity and avoid unnecessary inconvenience for applicants.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
