Junior Retoucher

6 Month Fixed Contract

Role purpose

To support the delivery of high-quality, accurate and commercially effective imagery across eCommerce, campaign and marketing channels, ensuring all content reflects the Abbott Lyon brand and visual standards.

This role sits within the Creative and Studio function and provides hands-on retouching support across product and campaign imagery. It exists to help maintain consistency, accuracy and efficiency across a growing volume of content while developing specialist retouching skills within a fast-paced eCommerce environment.

Operating as an entry-level specialist role, this position supports the wider studio team by delivering high-quality imagery, maintaining asset organisation and ensuring deadlines are met.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Retouching & image editing

  • Retouch product, campaign and lifestyle imagery in line with brand guidelines
  • Ensure imagery is clean, accurate and visually appealing
  • Maintain realistic representation of products whilst enhancing overall presentation
  • Apply consistent retouching techniques across all assets
  • Support delivery of imagery across multiple projects and deadlines

eCommerce & content support

  • Prepare imagery for website, marketing and social media channels
  • Ensure assets meet required specifications and formats
  • Support the creation and maintenance of product imagery across eCommerce platforms
  • Assist in preparing assets for new product launches and campaigns
  • Ensure content is organised and ready for deployment by relevant teams

Quality control & consistency

  • Conduct image checks to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Follow established retouching guidelines and visual standards
  • Support senior team members in maintaining quality across all content
  • Flag any image issues or inconsistencies for review
  • Help maintain consistency across all product categories and campaigns

Workflow & asset management

  • Organise image files and maintain folder structures
  • Ensure naming conventions and asset management processes are followed
  • Support efficient movement of assets between teams and systems
  • Assist with uploading, organising and archiving imagery
  • Maintain a structured and organised approach to workload management

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Retouchers, Photographers, Stylists and Creative teams
  • Interpret briefs accurately and seek clarification where required
  • Respond positively to feedback and implement changes efficiently
  • Support wider studio activities during busy periods
  • Build strong working relationships across the Creative function

Learning & development

  • Develop technical retouching skills through coaching and feedback
  • Stay up to date with Adobe Creative Suite developments and industry trends
  • Continuously improve speed, quality and attention to detail
  • Take ownership of personal development and technical capability growth
  • Support the evolution of studio processes and best practice

Knowledge, skills and experience required (must have)

  • Previous experience in retouching, photography, creative production or a relevant creative qualification
  • Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Interest in photography, retouching and visual content creation
  • Ability to follow guidelines and work consistently
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Interest in eCommerce, fashion, jewellery or lifestyle brands
