Junior Risk Manager | London | Discretionary Trading
My client, a global investment management firm known for its rigorous, research-driven approach to trading, is expanding their discretionary team and looking to hire a Junior Risk Manager.
This is a rare opportunity to help build out the risk function for a growing discretionary trading business from the ground up, working directly with quant researchers and traders while leveraging a world-class research platform.
What you'll be doing:
- Identifying and evaluating risk across discretionary trading strategies
- Analysing risk at the portfolio level and understanding key performance drivers
- Ensuring strategies operate within risk allocations set by the Investment Committee
- Supporting trade portfolio construction across the discretionary business
- Driving the build-out of the firm's risk framework, processes and infrastructure

What they're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Maths, Stats, Econometrics, Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Physics); advanced degree preferred
- Graduate level up to 3 years' commercial experience
- A demonstrated interest in risk management and a quantitative approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with global teams
- Comfort operating with urgency in a fast-paced environment
