Junior Sister/Charge Nurse - Respiratory

Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse – Respiratory Care

About the Role

We’re seeking a dynamic, skilled individual to join our rapidly expanding respiratory team as a Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver acute respiratory care within an established multi-disciplinary team in our newly opened respiratory unit.

The role involves working in the brand-new respiratory unit (C9, Louisa Martindale Building), which comprises:

  • 20 side rooms
  • An 8-bedded ‘higher acuity’ area
  • Dedicated links to respiratory specialist nursing services

You will provide care for patients with a range of respiratory conditions, including those receiving Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) or with chest drains in-situ.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to ensure an effective, safe, and individualised care environment for patients, their relatives, and carers.
  • Assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans independently.
  • Act as the designated deputy to the Ward Manager.
  • Supervise and teach junior and unqualified staff, fostering a learning-focused culture.
  • Ensure evidence-based, patient-centred care for acute respiratory conditions, requiring specialist knowledge and clinical expertise.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
