We're now looking for a Junior Software Developer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate aspiring software developer with some exposure to software development, an IT environment or the healthcare sector to join our collaborative organisation.

Your Role

As a Junior Software Developer, you will gain practical software development experience helping to create innovative healthcare solutions that improve patient safety and outcomes.

Working as part of a collaborative Agile team, you'll learn how to design, develop and deliver high-quality software, gaining experience across every stage of the software development lifecycle. You'll work closely with Product Owners, developers and subject matter experts to understand requirements, solve problems and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.

You'll also have the chance to get involved in AI-assisted software development, contributing to products that support new and existing prescribing systems.

Additionally, you will:

  • Produce production code and participate in code reviews under guidance
  • Follow established development processes and best practices
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of products and development approaches
  • Help integrate sustainable practices into software development activities

About You

To be considered as a Junior Software Developer, you will need:

  • A passion for software development and a genuine desire to learn and build your career
  • Exposure to software development, an IT environment or the healthcare sector
  • Good problem-solving skills and the curiosity to explore new ideas and technologies
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to build positive working relationships and contribute effectively as part of a team
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • An interest in continuous improvement, innovation and embracing change
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as Copilot, Gemini, Cline or similar technologies
  • At a minimum, GCSEs (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths Grade C/Grade 4 or above
