Junior Software Engineer
Junior Backend Engineer (1-3 Years' Experience)

We’re partnering with an innovative AI software company that’s building intelligent products for large organisations. Their platform combines cutting-edge AI with human collaboration to help businesses automate processes, work smarter, and unlock AI potential.
As they expand, they’re seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to join their engineering team.
The Role
An exciting opportunity for a backend-engineering professional with 1-3 years' commercial experience who wants to grow their career in AI and cloud technologies.

Responsibilities
Backend Development
- Build and maintain backend services using Node.js or Python
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and microservices
- Write clean, tested, and maintainable code
- Improve engineering standards and best practices

Cloud & Infrastructure
- Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Work with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments
- Optimise performance using monitoring and logging tools
Collaboration
- Partner with engineers, designers, and product teams
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions
- Learn from senior engineers while shaping customer-facing products
Requirements
Essential Skills
Experience (1-3 years) in software engineering, particularly:
- Node.js and/or Python development
- REST API and asynchronous programming principles
- Experience with Git and collaborative workflows
- Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP is a plus)
- Experience with Docker and a basic understanding of Kubernetes
