💰 Salary: £33,000 plus TRONC and superb benefits 📅 Start Date: July 2026

About The Role

The Junior Sous Chef plays a foundational role in supporting the senior kitchen team to deliver high-quality dining experiences while upholding operational standards. This position involves hands-on kitchen operations, team supervision, and structured personal development towards senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Interpret and execute food preparation and plating procedures consistently to meet high-quality standards.
  • Provide supervisory leadership to junior kitchen staff, particularly during peak dining periods.
  • Maintain meticulous stock control, food hygiene (Level 3 Certificate preferred), and safety protocols.
  • Participate in team training to foster skill development and industry knowledge.
  • Assist in menu development, seasonal adjustments, and efficient kitchen workflows.
  • Prioritise quality, time management, and attention to detail in every dish.
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support busy periods.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or comparable progression to Junior Sous Chef required.
  • Proven knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen safety, and stock control.
  • Ability to motivate and guide junior staff while maintaining poise under pressure.
  • Strong time management, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for high-standard food preparation, presentation, and consistency.
  • Willingness to learn, develop, and progress within a fast-paced, leadership-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
