We are looking for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our team at Black Rock Restaurants.
Our obsession with going above and beyond is inspired by the Persian concept of “Nooshe jân”. Used in a similar way to “bon appetit”, it also has a deeper meaning that translates more like “may it nourish your soul”. Because the experience we want to create goes way beyond a nice meal. We talk about our drinks, service, and atmosphere because we know they’re as important to customers as our food.
The Crazy Goose is your new favourite local: warm, welcoming and full of personality.
An elegant ground-floor bar downstairs and a vibrant first-floor dining room – made for easy pints and lunches to linger over. Serving British classics with a touch of European flair, championing fine wines, local beers, oysters on ice and deeply comforting pies.
As a Junior Sous Chef you will:
- Deliver dishes made with quality food and products, from fresh, using local products, prepared with skill and passion.
- Your passion for food, flexibility and excellent organisation skills and cool head will mean that you will keep your section always running smoothly whilst inspiring your team to do the same.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
