Junior Sous Chef – Food & Beverage & Culinary

As our Junior Sous Chef, you’ll play a pivotal role in a high-pressure, innovative kitchen—pairing hands-on tasks with the opportunity to learn from industry experts while contributing to a roster of Michelin-level service.


Key Responsibilities

Culinary Operations & Leadership Support

  • Supervise, coordinate, and assign tasks to kitchen staff to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Design visually appealing food presentations, decorative displays, and garnishes to enhance the dining experience.
  • Maintain portion consistency, food safety standards, and garnish standards.
  • Monitor food preparation levels, ensuring accuracy for each course.
  • Communicate with Food & Beverage service staff about menu specials, stock levels, and substitutions.
  • Prepare custom requests and adjustments to menus while assisting cooks and kitchen teams with daily tasks.
  • Provide necessary supplies (ingredients, tools, utensils) to culinary staff.
  • Inventory and manage stock levels for ingredients and kitchen equipment.

  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety programs and regulatory compliance.
  • Inspect food items for quality and alerts management to any defects.
  • Adhere to company policies on safety, security, cleanliness, and maintenance.
  • Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, and log maintenance needs immediately.
  • Complete required safety and security certifications.

Team & Guest Relations

  • Assist in training, evaluating, and motivating kitchen staff.
  • Represent the Marriott brand with precision, professionalism, and warmth.
  • Address guest service inquiries with clarity, efficiency, and good judgment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of company intellectual and operational details.
  • Foster positive relationships with team members to enhance collaboration.

Requirements & Qualities

Must Have

  • Previous kitchen experience (required).
  • Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude and an approachable personality.
  • Ability to think creatively while maintaining consistency under pressure.
