About the Role
We are seeking a talented and driven Junior Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury hotel in Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Junior Sous Chef to play a key role in delivering outstanding culinary experiences across multiple food outlets.
As a Junior Sous Chef, you will support the senior kitchen leadership team in ensuring all food is produced and presented to 5-star standards. You will assist in supervising the kitchen brigade, maintaining exceptional quality and consistency across all outlets. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills and progress your career within a high-performing luxury hospitality environment.

Key Accountabilities
Operational Support
- Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in smooth day-to-day kitchen operations
- Supervise service periods to ensure exceptional standards of quality, consistency, and presentation
- Assist in coordinating kitchen service with Food & Beverage departments
- Step up to lead shifts or individual sections when required
- Ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations
People & Development
- Train and develop Commis Chefs and Chefs de Partie
- Assist with staff inductions and onboarding
- Help motivate the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Act as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and kitchen standards
Food, Quality & Cost Control
- Maintain food quality, consistency, and portion control
- Support stock control, ordering, and waste management
- Ensure mise en place is prepared efficiently
- Uphold kitchen standards, systems, and procedures

Food & Service Excellence
- Deliver high-quality food across all outlets (restaurant, banqueting, room service, colleague dining)
- Actively participate in food production and service as needed
- Consistently exceed guest expectations
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
- Maintain high health & safety standards within kitchen areas
- Report accidents, hazards, or defects in line with hotel procedures
- Complete mandatory training, including health & safety and fire training
Ideal Junior Sous Chef Candidate
- Experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef in a luxury or high-quality kitchen
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Positive, motivated attitude with a desire to develop leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Passion for quality ingredients and professional cookery
- (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent preferred)
