About The Hoxton & Rondo
We are seeking a passionate Junior Sous Chef to join Rondo, our relaxed seasonal modern bistro in Holborn at The Hoxton. Operating from breakfast through to dinner, Rondo serves high-quality seasonal dishes with a welcoming but modern approach.
The kitchen is led by Chris Gillard (formerly of St. John and other top London restaurants), with an exceptional wine programme and wall curated by Will Lander of Quality Chop.
Rondo is the kind of restaurant you’d feel at home in: drive-driven, fun, and rooted in exceptional food and drink—but with a strong sense of enjoyment and community.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in leading a large, dynamic kitchen team
- Help drive menu innovation, fostering a culture of continuous development whilst upholding the Hoxton Restaurant’s framework and high-quality produce
- Ensure kitchen standards remain impeccable, finding both efficiency and integrity in daily operations
- Take charge of the kitchen team when the Head Chef and Sous Chef are away
- Lead by example for both staff and guests, inspiring confidence and creativity while prioritising memorable experiences

Requirements & Experience
We’re looking for candidates who embody the following:
- 2+ years’ experience as a Junior Sous Chef in a fast-paced environment where fresh, provenance-driven ingredients are essential
- A solid background in managing large kitchen teams
- A passionate, hands-on approach to creativity while remaining disciplined to our brand’s integrity
- A pulse for great customer service and making memorable connections—with staff as much as guests
- No room for ego or grandiosity—our culture thrives on humility, attitude, and teamwork
- Someone eager to test, experiment, and learn
Bonus points for:
- Experience in meetings & events or banqueting
