Junior Statutory Reporting and Compliance Accountant

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a dedicated Assistant Statutory Reporting and Compliance Accountant to join the busy financial compliance team on a hybrid basis at our NCH Head office in Bilston.
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering timely and accurate PBC lists for multiple European countries, working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure seamless annual audit execution. You will support pre-audit activities such as preparing audit samples and confirmation letters, helping to maintain a high standard of statutory reporting and compliance across the NCH business brands.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Reporting & Compliance
- Deliver accurate PBC lists and support smooth audits across multiple entities.
- Ensure timely filing of statutory accounts, declarations, and national statistical returns.
- Maintain strong compliance by eliminating late-filing penalties and avoiding audit fee overruns.
- Keep documentation of US GAAP to Local GAAP differences up to date.
- Review financial statements to ensure they meet relevant GAAP and statutory requirements.

Financial Reporting & Audit Support
- Review PBC information prepared by other teams before submitting to auditors.
- Support the resolution of audit queries and help drive on-time statutory submissions.
- Prepare and approve journals, maintain standards of balance (SOB) up to GAAP level, and extract data efficiently from the ERP system.
Technical Skills & Continuous Development
- Build and maintain strong technical accounting knowledge, including key concepts such as prudence, accruals, prepayments, and going concern.
- Use relevant Excel formulas confidently and develop efficiency in ERP systems.
External Resource and Process Management
- Monitor dashboards and ensure timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual declarations.
Teamwork & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work collaboratively across teams to resolve issues and support process standardisation.
- Seek and act on stakeholder feedback to improve service delivery.
- Achieve KPIs within required deadlines.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and successfully manage multiple assignments concurrently.
- Self-motivated, proactive with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Good team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Discreet and trustworthy, working with confidential data.
- Committed to continuous professional development and learning.
- Strong systems skills in Excel, accounting software knowledge also preferred.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Education / Qualifications
- AAT qualified desirable but not essential.
- A-Level / B-TEC qualification suitable to role.
- GCSE grade 7 (or above) in Maths and English.
