Junior Technologist (Footwear/Accessories)

Junior Technologist – Styling & Product Development | New Look

New Look drives accessible style through its website, mobile app, and over 300 UK stores. As an inclusive brand, we’ve cultivated a workplace rooted in our core values: we’re customer obsessed, committed to winning together, and driven by collective responsibility.

About the Role

As a Junior Technologist, you’ll shape our product offering—ensuring quality, fit, and profitability while minimising faulty or fit-related returns. Your responsibility is to oversee your department’s workflow from first fit to delivery, reporting to the office 4 days per week.

  • Develop and manage product requirements, collaborating cross-functionally with Design, Buying, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and E-Commerce.
  • Source material optimally for mass production, balancing cost-savings with quality/design goals.
  • Drive improvements through supplier negotiations and rigorous compliance checks.

Responsibilities

Technical & Operational

  • Fit & Quality Assurance: Lead departmental fitting/grading programmes while maintaining compliance with standards.
  • Product Development: Work closely with Design/Sourcing teams to refine product trials and technical specifications.
    • Draft clear design briefs outlining measurements and fabric specifications.
    • Analyse supply capability, strengthen quality "fit gates", and risk-assess production stages.
  • Merchant Support: Oversee transition from pre-production to introduction, ensuring on-time roll-outs.
  • Supplier Collaboration:
    • Proactive compliance monitoring to resolve audits (including DC holds within 48 hours).
    • Cost-analysis and remedy planning for poor-quality returns.
  • Competitive Tracking: Monitor competitor advancements and benchmark New Look’s offering.
    • Translate insights into product improvements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
